Hello to another new week.
It’s funny how time just passes by and as you get older, it all blurs together. I was on the phone with my Mom earlier this week talking about my birthday and her plans to come visit, and it didn’t even resonate with me until today that it’s this week that she’s referring to. I swear I just had a birthday, (they can stop now…) I will say though, it is great to celebrate another healthy trip around the sun, July 27th bring it on.
Anyways, I’ve been reading a lot about mornings, productivity, healthy habits, etc. I feel like I might start a New Years resolution now. (Too late? Never!) I used to be one of those crazies that gets up at 5am, to go workout at 6am, but that was when I worked corporately and had to be in an office from 8am-5pm. Now that I work from home and have the ability to go to the gym/barre at 9am or 12pm on a quick lunch break, I sleep until I have to get up and or until someone wakes me up (I won’t name names…)! I would love to be one of those people who gets “slow mornings”, doesn’t have anywhere to be or anything to do and curls up to watch the news with a coffee and a crumpet (haha), but I am one of those people that thrives on getting up and getting going.
Now, don’t get me wrong, some days I wish I could sleep until 9 or 10, but on the RARE occasion that I do, I always end up more tired than if I just got up (plus half of the day is over by 10am). Maybe one of the best parts about having an animal is that you have to get up, or you will absolutely regret it. I should nickname this little dude, “consistency” or “morning routine”. Anyways, we’ve been getting into our morning productivity routine and play fetch (and drinking coffee) at 6am before we have breakfast and start our day. It’s working out quite nicely. If you can’t quite get out of bed in the morning, get a dog. Or have kids. Either way works (but you can’t leave the latter home alone…)!
Monday’s can be ruff, but we made it to the “office” by 7am today, so we’re winning!
